The Penultimate Step

So... i'm about to graduate from college... sort of...

Next friday (the 15th) i'll be taking part in the ceremony here at Evergreen, if you can really call it a ceremony. basically we all sit down outside, listen to some fun/cool speakers and a marching band that comes complete with stilt-walkers, jugglers, and other circus fun. none of the pomp and circumstance crap. and caps and gowns are optional ... graduates are allowed to wear whatever they want (or don't want). apparently every year more than one person goes naked, others have extravagant costumes, and sometimes people just paint their bodies. sounds like a good time, and i sorta hope my grandma decides not to come. you know, for her sake.

i've been thinking about recapping my formal educational years since the end of high school, so here it is:

-three semesters at CSU (plus one summer Pingree Park session)
-three months in Patagonia with NOLS
-three quarters at Evergreen (including one spent in India)

-and now when i walk at graduation, i'll only need three credits to receive my degree.
-in just over three weeks i'll begin my internship which will satisfy my remaining credits for free.

that's a lot of threes, especially considering this is my third year out of high school. pretty crazy
