Do you self identify as Native American? Not fully, but I am proud of what Native background I do possess.
If so, which tribe/nation(s) do you belong to? Background is 1/16th Sauk-Fox
Are you enrolled in these tribes/nations? (just curious, it's not a requirement) Sadly, no. I am not full-blooded enough.
Do you reside on a reservation? No
Do you participate in traditional/religious activities? No, but I do want to take the traditional spirit walk at some point soon.
Did you grow up with your Native American heritage, or are you rediscovering it? A bit of both. Grew up knowing what and how much it was, the story of my Great-great-great gramndmother,as well as the culture and practices of the tribe a ways back. Currently I am finding the time and the spiritual calmness to rediscover where I left off.
What brings you here? Pride in my heritage.
Do you have any special interests you'd like to mention? Shamanistic traditions specifically of the Sauk-Fox, as well as whether anyone still speaks the language or if it has perished.
