I've caught The NOVA Disease that floats around all the branches all year. At least someone at our branch has been sick since October and now it's my turn. I actually don't have it too bad: just a really sore throat, the occasional fever, and a general body ache. Aleve is all I have in the way of medication so I've been keeping myself well medicated on it. Don't worry, I'm taking care of myself.
Being sick away from home always makes me all kinds of depressed. There is no worse feeling than being sick and having no one around to take care of you. I've been trying to refrain from bothering people while I've been sick because I can be so moody and woe-is-me about the whole thing, I did break down today though and call Max, since we hadn't been able to talk in a while. It was a wonderful conversation and I was so excited to be able to talk to him for such a long time. It was really nostalgic. :) Oddly enough, after getting off the phone I felt a million times better. I was even giggling, if you can believe it. Way too girly, I know, but its true!
I do miss you. I hope you know that. :)
Today was my last day at Rio for the year. Yay! It sucked because the Kids classes are on break until the second week in January so it was nothing but regular classes all day. I really missed seeing Nagisa, Haruka, and Runa! Actually, speaking of Kids classes, I have a new class on Saturdays that is also three little girls: Wakana, Aimi, and Sakura. They are super adorable as well! It was my second time to teach their class, but the first time was two weeks ago so they were a little nervous around me. But, in true Miss Marie fashion, I had them running in circles around the room acting out the language for the week and having a blast. When they left class, all three of them were telling their parents how much fun they had. :D
And, in case anyone has any doubt of my awesomeness when it comes to teaching Kids, I got a major compliment yesterday. There is this little girl who comes in for Man-to-Man (one-on-one) Advanced Kinder Lessons, Rara. Rara is such a little princess. Her Mom dresses her in these beautiful dresses for lessons and she wears her hair so long and pretty that she looks just like a doll. Too cute! Rara's Mom is very, very picky about who teaches Rara and is very particular about what is taught to her. Until recently only Sarah, our AT, was allowed to teach her. Unfortunately Sarah doesn't work at Rio much anymore so Rara hasn't been able to take lessons. A few Saturdays ago, Rara registered and Sarah wasn't at the branch so I got her lesson. I was really, really nervous since I had heard so many things about her Mom's pickiness, but the lesson went great. Rara left the lesson so excited that her mother complimented me to the branch staff and since then Rara has been registered to take lessons from me every Saturday morning.
I am just so freakin' good with kids its insane. You may go ahead and bow to me. (^_~)
So anyway, I have the next two days off so I'll be spending them doing absolutely nothing. Hah, I wish! Before I leave for Osaka, I want to e-mail my professors and get my recommendation letters started and get the rest of my application stuff to UNT. I also need to register for the stupid GRE in February, plus get to work on the FSWE stuff for April. Rar, too much to do!
Its totally worth it though. I can't wait to get to Osaka and hang out mad skills old school style. Its going to be so great to see everyone again, although I plan to be too drunk to remember most of it. I'm going to try to buy a cheap digital camera in Den-Den Town so hopefully I'll have a lot of pictures, but if not I'll do what I can with my disposable camera and my keitai. Don't worry, Osaka-philes, you will get your fix!
In closing, Merry Christmas! ... not that it really feels like Christmas here. :\
