Nocheat Update: Rainbow Woodstock

Nov 05, 2006 13:02

Background:  Rainbow Woodstock is a big time movie director, set to become the first sim to hit the top of the show business career track.  She's married to Komei Tellerman-Woodstock, business tycoon, who's also so vain his face was hideously disfigured while using the makeover machine (thanks to Rainbow, who convinced him to use it in hopes of making Komei look more like her daughter's biological father).  Rainbow's daugther, Inkberry, is also one of the founders of Nocheat's first (and only) gang, the Soulja Girls.

Time to see what they've been up to.

Inkberry finally takes her relationship with Duluth Senora to the next level.  While her and Olive Row might run the Soulja Girls, that doesn't make her a heartless sim.  After all, Soulja Girls are able to get things for sims that they can't get anywhere else.  And Duluth is going to help Inkberry get exactly what she wants.

Inkberry's in a very good position to get everything she wants, too.  What with her mother poised to become THE hottest commodity in the movie making world.

"So, did the studio green light your project, ma?"

Rainbow's latest offering to the studios could be just the thing she needs to secure her status as icon.

But it could be risky.

Yes, he's no longer the acting head of the biggest and most powerful crime family Nocheat had ever seen, but he still has connections.  He has to.  And there's no guarantee someone isn't out to get him.

But when she meets him for the first time, Rainbow is put at ease.  He's a delightful older man, willing to participate fully to get his story told.  And he's more than pleased that Rainbow is excited about the project as well.

He has such charisma and charm.  Rainbow finds herself drawn to him.  And the power he still exudes.

Yes, this is the beginning of a beautiful (and perhaps not purely working) relationship.

And when the rumors start flying about their "more than working relationship", Rainbow's career gets just the boost she was looking for.

The movie opens to rave reviews.

Rainbow has made it.  Fame and fortune.  Her name added to the list of great sim directors.  The studios begin fighting for her.  She's ripe for the picking.

"Have you considered advancing your cosmic evolution?"

" Saturn's Nine are the elect of the pansophical automaton, Hyperion. . ."

"You mean the giant robot orbiting the ringed planet?  That's bunk.  I make robots for my living.  There's no way a giant robot is out in orbit around Saturn. . ."

"Really?  What kind of robots?  So you don't think a great big robot could live in outerspace?"

"Well, all the details are in my forthcoming book.  But the short answer is an emphatic, NO.  A giant robot could not be circling Saturn, directing sims to worship him, or whatever that cult would lead sims to believe."

"Woah, Aunt Rainbow?  You're in a CULT?  Is that really good for your career?  I mean, won't people think you're a complete nut?"

"Tito, sweetie, you have a lot to learn about celebrity.  This is what we do.  And it's not a cult."

Rainbow doesn't convice either Priscilla Primate or her nephew, Tito Extreme, to join the ranks of Saturn's Nine.  She's not overly concerned.  It's all about cosmic evolution, after all.  She continues to send her financial contributions, knowing that once she has reached her silver years she will be taken more seriously by the founders and gain favor with Hyperion.

She doesn't have to wait long.

On the day of her transition, she sends an additional (and substantial) love gift to the founders.  She also adopts a more minimalist approach to the adornment of her vessel.

She's proud to offer her well maintained vessel.  Hyperion should be proud to receive such a gift.

But the only way to truly connect with the pansophical automaton is through quiet inner reflection and deep personal searching.

And love gifts.  Love gifts she hopes will speed her on her way to attaining the official garb.

She studies the literature, but has some trouble with the somewhat divided views.

One camp professes the path to cosmic evolution involves the rebuking of all worldly trappings and pleasures, especially carnality.

Rainbow is happy to see that she can also attain cosmic evolution by fully expressing her emotions.  This will work much better for her.  After expressing her emotions with Pierce, she sends another love gift along with a brief note on her personal progress.

She never realized she could have all this and cosmic evolution, too.  Things are indeed going her way.
