Yeah, I probably shouldn't brag JUST yet but damnit, I am.

As we speak, I'm backing up my game onto my external hard drive AND my computer is RUNNING.
And I (yes ME) was the one who fixed it.
Ok, not all by myself. I did have fatherly tech support.
It appears the source of the latest disturbance was the wire/strap/cord/whatever you want to call it from the motherboard to the hard drives. After unplugging and re-plugging it was no good. So boot from disk and see that it's not recognizing either of my hard drives.
Mine papa asks, "Don't you have another computer there?"
Why yes, yes I do (and we NEVER use it).
SO, my zero mechanical point having self single handedly (well, I did use both hands and this wee little screw driver, poor thing nearly snapped) and I cracked open that ugly Dell toaster looking CPU (thing was like fort knox) and poached out the strap/wire dealie.
It was a computer organ transplant and I'm happy to report, the patient seems to be doing fine.
The only snag is, the donor "organ" is only for a single hard drive, so I had to disable my F: drive for now. Oh no, no Word for me. *snicker* Pops will mail me a new strap/cord that has spots for both drives and hopefully we won't have any more issues for a while.
Oh, computer, I love how you challenge me. I think I gained a full mechanical point fixing you (and I didn't get zapped).
To celebrate (once my backup is done) I'll share those cute pics I was talking about before.
