"OZ" is a nickname for Australia. Laura has a dorm relatively close to her "Uni" campus.
She seems to be happy there.
Here are some new facts I learned from her.
Most people wear hats outdoors when the sun is shining because it is too easy to get too much sun there.
Australia is a clean country without too much litter and none of the tagging we often see.
You need a three prong adapter with two prongs that slant.
The weather is the same as southern California's.
You can wake up to the sounds of the kookaburra, a bird that you'll see everywhere outside.
There is very very little Mexican food, nearly none in fact.
The toilets often have two buttons on the tank. One for a whole flush and one for a half of a flush.
Water is like gold and must be used conservatively.
They do not use pennies there.
Their money is in dollars. They only use notes of 5, 10, 20, 50, and 100's.
Their change is in 5, 10, 20, and 50. There are also one and two dollar gold coins.
Italian food is not very popular there but Japanese food is.
So if you go there you better have your burritos and pizzas before you leave because you may not see much of them.
