I suck at prioritizing writing. I have like five huge projects I'm working on and I keep coming back to the one with the least importance.
There's my video game script, for one. I finished the boy's story, but never had time to write a girl's version. (I still got an A, but for my portfolio I'd rather it be finished as intended.) There's also my comic script, which needs some rewrites desperately. I don't wanna think about how long this thing is going to take to draw, considering how long the writing process is taking.
I want to rewrite my magical girl deconstruction (sort of) and post it on deviantART. I've come to terms with the fact it won't be publishable, so might as well have fun with it and use it as an experiment on online novel-sharing. When I started over, though, I made an unexpected change: the protagonist, who was originally twenty, shot back to sixteen and a first year in high school. I... I think it'll make things easier, but I'm still adjusting to it. She has parents and classmates and things to do during the day now. It's more interesting (and accurate to magical girl genre) than having her stay at home all day, filling out job applications, though.
And then there's my stupid, stupid novel and its sequel. I really need to complete the next chapter or two for the sequel so I can send it to a friend -- she's been going through some tough times and I think it might cheer her up -- but... then I reread the first book. And thought it'd be a good idea to start a rewrite of that. Because I like biting off more than I can chew, apparently.
So I'm focusing on the rewrite and rewatching old scenes again and again in my head, trying to figure out what direction to take it now that I'm not doing minor tweaking anymore. I keep thinking up brilliant plans, until I realize it's impossible to set up or get out of. Meanwhile, the more important projects are starting to collect dust.
Oh. Right. Damn. There's also the three novels from various classes that would probably be good to finish and send out. I forgot about them. Why do humans have to waste so much time sleeping again?
