In which I am interrupted from more dull fashion rambles by loud beeps

I think I may love Ragstock. It's a "recycled" clothing store that I've been to only twice, but the first time I came away with a leather trench coat of awesome and this time I found a pair of leather boots that actually, get this, fit me and a red fedora for a lot cheaper than Amazon had it.

This makes things at least a little easier. My sister's getting married in October and I get to be a bridesmaid. This would normally inspire terror in me, except both she and her fiance understand how I hate girly clothes and dresses, so... I'm basically free to wear whatever, so long as it's slightly steampunk-y, not too casual, and incorporates the color pattern of red, white, and black.

I think I'm settled on this shirt in black, these boots in red, a pair of black dress pants, the red fedora I just got (woot!), and a long red pair of gloves. I thought it would be too casual, but my sister signed off on it, so apparently it's okay and I actually like it. Win for me.

Great. A neighbor's fire alarm went off for the third time in like a month. Every time I go to investigate, it stops just as I get to their door or walk out my door. (Gotta grab my keys before I leave for the hallway, since these doorknobs lock automatically.) Also of note, at least the first two times were different neighbors at fault. The alarm turned off so quickly this time that I don't know where it came from. Either way, I have had quite enough fire for one year -- or one lifetime -- thank you very much.
