Actually had a productive day today--taught my lesson, got my printing done, talked to Oleg about stuff. And gave into my craving for crappy food by making home fries. Aitjamal's visit with MA's college went okay, so now it's just a question of whether she can find my college without getting lost or ending up in Shaxtinsk or something.
We're going to have to entirely redo the budget for the Pony Grant, I realized. Why? Well, remember last week I linked at article about
the tenge depreciating? The day after I posted it, the exchange rate went crazy and fell down. It's now at 148.41 tenge on the dollar, according to xe.com--a 20% drop in value. This is a problem because computers here are generally priced according to their dollar value--and apparently (or so I've heard) at least one chain is counting on further depreciation, because it's started using an exchange rate of 180.
Also, wtf is up with Tor suddenly redirecting me to a web page hosted by a Korean ISP? I have to keep changing identities, which means re-logging-in to LJ. Grr.
