ARRGH I just managed to erase a big long entry about last couple days. Here's the cliff's notes:
Friday: Orgy of consumerism and kinda scary. I bought yarn, a skirt, and a new flash drive.
DUMB LADY IN KMART: ::parks cart full of children in a position that almost totally blocks the fitting rooms::
MAUD: ::tries to circumnavigate cart in order to try on $13 skirt::
LADY: ::comes out and leans against counter so as to COMPLETELY block the entrance::
MAUD: ::blinkblink::
LADY: There's no attendent, you know. You can go right in.
MAUD IN HER HEAD: Yeah, as soon as your MOVE YOUR FAT ASS BITCH
MAUD IN REALITY: ::squoozes through and kinda accidentally-on-purpose bumps lady hard::
LADY: ::is still there when Maud leaves fitting room::
Saturday: WICKED! anemonerose and damnimasquib picked me up (in said $13 skirt and giant-ass sweater) and we ate and fan-gossiped at the Macaroni Grill before heading over the Fabulous Fox. The Fox was fabulous, the crowd was meh (who the lksldkjdlkjas wears jeans to the FOX?!), the seats were decent and the show was OMG amazing. Carol Kane and Kendra Kesselbaum sat this show out, but Stephanie Block as Elphaba was absolutely brilliant. I told my mommy I need that soundtrack for Christmas because DAMN. So glad I went to this!
Today: Our phone service shit itself and I almost missed my ride back to K-ville. Katie, Julie and I ate at El Vaquero's (yes, dansedelachevre, the shitting mexican place) and now I am trying to detangle a massive knot in a ball of yarn that mildredpierce said I could have. Actually, I initially suspected that it was not a knot but in fact an avatar of the Flying Spaghetti Monster, but then decided that if the FSM was going to appear to me in yarn from, He wouldn't choose this particular shade of purple.
Tonight: Gotta show at least some progress on my JINS project as we're starting presentatiosn tomorrow and he might call on me just out of spite. He expects "substantial completion" even though the fuckers aren't due for two weeks. At least my Lang and Learning presentation isn't until the 6th, waha.
FANDOM RELATED! OMG! Anybody want to beta my rwhgfqf fic? It's, um, R/Hr (duh) post-Hogwarts, pg-13 and ~4,500. Pretty please?
And let's end this on a newsworthy note: Hazelwood v. Kuhlmeyer Mark II. A Tennessee highschool is censoring school newspaper articles on tattoos and birth control. I especially like the comments about the birth control article: yes, because kids will run around having sex all willy-nilly without the fear of pregnancy hanging over their heads. Of course they couldn't possible have any kind of moral code that would lead them to choose abstinence--and whose fault is that?
