I just got back from seeing Pillowman at the Guthrie. I had never been there, and I wish I would have had a chance to look around. I did get to stand in the "box" that overlooks the river. I had a great time, laughed hystarically- with my sick, twisted, ironic humor. Hey, if you can't laugh at the oddness of life, what can you laugh at? It was kinda an all day trip. Met at 10, took 2 and a half hours to get there (well, under...I sped). Three hour show, and getting food on the way home. Rehersal at 6- got here at 6:45. I'm here until 9, when I read at church. Oh, I'm doing my first church thing ever.
I can't explain what a good day I had. It was the four theatre major girls in a car for just under 6 hours, and we were happier because of it. At any other time, a week ago, a semester ago, a year ago, this wouldn't have worked. We would have killed each other. The four of us have been through so much together, there is no dening our bond. It's nice finally getting along. More then get along, we like each other. We dorky dancing to my 90's club music. We ragged on the men in the department. We got McDonald's! Just so happy. It was all of the good moments of London with each of them revisited, and renewed. I'm looking forward to this year- and I don't want to let these ladies go. No. You can't make me.
And in light of the fun girl talk, a quiz.
What Kind of Guy Will You Fall For?
You would fall for the sensitive guy. You'll find your future man wherever turtlenecks are sold. He will have depth, introspection, and a disturbing knowledge of musical theatre. And he may be a little weird. But hey, while your girlfriends cry over broken hearts, you'll be having Shakespeare read to you every night.Find Your Character @
