I bought Scrabble the other day. I'm pretty excited about that. Probably more than I should be. I also got my new shoes in the mail the other day, I like them a lot.

My first day of auditions netted one auditionee. Unacceptable. The second day gave us quite a few more. Much to my surprise the majority of them were female. Auditions went pretty well and casting wasn't too terribly difficult.

Then there was some Ultimate.

I came back, took a shower, then a bunch of us watched Dead Ringers starring Jeremy Irons as identicle twin gynocologists, one suave the other nerdy, who switch identities back and forth so one can woo the lady and the other can have her later or one can do the research and the other take credit for it. Eventually jealousy comes into the mix and the brothers begin to deteriorate into insanity. The movie is incredibly sick and twisted and left a bad feeling in my stomach. I suppose it accomplished its goals, then. The movie became hard to follow because there really was no way to keep track of which brother was which except that (sometimes) one of them wore glasses. But between them switching back and forth you never knew if he just wasn't wearing his glasses or not. I think that was due in part to the filmmaker's desire but I think it went a little too far. After watching it a second time I don't think it would be any easier to tell them apart. It took us until the last half hour to figure out Eliot was the suave one and Beverly was the nerdy one.
The movie is sick. I hope to never watch it again. Although it was well made I did not particularly enjoy the feeling left in my stomach. I don't recommend it

Classes have been going well (they've all just been introductory days, really). Nothing should be particularly difficult. I'm a little bit disappointed in that, really, but it'll be fine.

I also discovered the other day that anything I talk to my advisor about he doesn't remember. This wouldn't bother me if he wrote it down so he could look at it before talking to me or giving me advice, but he doesn't do that either. I got my draft of my Ed Plan (which is really stupid anyway) back from him with a bunch of stupid comments about not being able to have a third major (in reference to the Spanish Major that I decided not to do because I wanted to have a theater major) and about how I should think about doing Rep Term, which I told him I was going to do and that it might mess up my plans to study in Chicago. I just don't see a point in having an advisor if he can't advice ME on MY future instead of A STUDENT on A STUDENT'S future. As it is all he is good for is getting me signed up for classes - which I pick out ahead of time anyway and could probably do without him if they'd let me.
