push has come to shove, i gotta upgrade, and i ph33r change.
hardware is an intel duo "macbook 5,1" (the aluminum sort, which iirc was called a powerbook) running 10.5.8. the hardware's still ok, but i need some of the newer os features, notably full-disk encryption.
i've been making backups with time machine (and have recent/current ones even). what do i need to do to get to current with software and os, preferably losing as little of my old state as possible?
