Good news! I received my hard drive today. The bad news though, I couldn't get my old one out to put in the new one. I took apart everything I needed to, all 18 screws on the outside of the case, popped the top portion of my Powerbook off and saw the innards, but when it came down to the last two screws, the ones holding the bracket on for the hard drive mount, I couldn't get them to budge one bit. I ended up nearly stripping the heads of both screws before finally giving up. I scrounged around for so many different screw drivers, and the only one that still fit was the one I had used to begin with. So attempt 1 at the replacement failed. I'm going to open her up again tomorrow between classes again and try a different method I found in searching for ways to deal with stripped screws in Powerbooks, and apparently other people have had this problem as well. So hopefully this method will work. If not, I'll just take it to the Apple Store tomorrow evening and see if they can loosen these screws for me so I can get the hard drive out. *sigh*
