Midweek monsters: Wednesday wasps and thursday thoraxes

Ahh... The midweek is finally over, just a few more classes and I'm free for the weekend.

So last weekend was rather archie-less, as they were all quite busy doing stuff for studio and history. I did catch some Chipotle and Panera Bread over the weekend. We had to go all the way up to the Armitage stop. It's a really really nice neighborhood up there. We walked around a little bit on our way back to the Brown line station, and there are some really awesome houses up there. I think I'm gonna go back up there again and check them out during the daylight hours. On our way back, we were riding the Green line, and we had the car pretty much to ourselves (as it was the last), except for the sleeping guy, but he didn't wake up for anything, so a friend and I decided to snag some of the new CTA signs, they're pretty spiffy, and will now become some wall decorations for my side of the room. The rest of my weekend was fairly uneventful, at least as I remember.

Monday, I got my calc test, turns out I got a 67%... Ouch!
Oh well, two more tests, and I know I can do better on them. Plus, I've been getting 10/10 on every quiz, including the one today, and the homework I'm doing quite well on, so I think I can get an A still.

I ended up with a 94% on my CS midterm. I figured I get something around a 95%, I know I messed up on one of the programming examples, I forgot to do one thing, and that's probably how I got marked off a few points, but that's not so bad, that with a 44/50 on my first quiz, and full lab points, I'm still getting a solid A.

I also found out I got a 4/6 on my first psych quiz, which isn't so bad. The midterm for that class is tuesday, and with some studying this weekend, I think I can do really well on it. So so far I'm standing pretty well in my classes, even physics, where I know I have an A so far.

As for TechNews... The drama is really high right now. We've lost our managing editor, which is a really bad thing. He was actually forced out by the Media Advisory Board (a board comprised of IIT administrative members), which first of all, shouldn't happen at all. Secondly, makes us out a great asset to TechNews, and also a great guy. Thirdly, totally kills our free and independent paper, the school now essentially has shown that they have editorial control over us. If they don't like something that's written and printed, they can now fire just about any of us. It doesn't look good right now. I could go more in depth if someone wants me to, but I'll leave it at that right now. Sufficed to say, everyone, from us section editors all the way up to our editor-in-chief, is pretty pissed off about this now. Oh well, we'll see how this goes for right now, and there is some scheming going on right now, but nothing will be said quite yet.

On a positive TechNews note, looks like we'll be getting more money now. And I'll be getting paid soon, so that makes me happy. I think they've settled on $25 an issue for editors for filling the page, no articles required to be written, then $10 per article we write on our own page, and $15 per article we write not for our section, as well as $5 per picture we take, submit and gets published. Also, I think I'll try to start publishing some of the articles I write for TechNews on here weekly. Oh, and if anyone cares to read any of the issues or my articles, I collect a few issues per week so I have an archive and such for myself and others.

So, I'll try to get an update in this weekend, as well as try to get some of my articles up.
