That is...a lot
Watched Reacher coz I kept seeing people say it was much better than you'd think it would be, even if it was super violent. True on both counts, really. I do like that his team keeps making cracks about how slow he is, because, yeah, a guy that big is not going to be speedy. I dunno, maybe it's the actor's tan and blond hair but I kept thinking "Reacher is what happens when you run Malinois software on Golden Retriever hardware." Like, the dude is huge and yet has a weird cuddly sort of vibe, then turns around and shows he has more screws loose than a 747 emergency door.
But, mostly a fun, minimal brain cell show, even if I did move to a different tab during some of the ultra violence.
Also watched Monkey Man this weekend, which was terrific! An interesting meld of visual styles, with a lot of thought put into it, which took it beyond just a kick ass action film. A really impressive writing and directing debut for Dev Patel. Just a very intense experience all around. And, uh, yeah, also super violent.
