Tuscan Tavern - 2001 College Drive, Clementon, NJ 08021

This was hardly my first visit to the Tuscan Tavern. But it does seem to get better with every visit or take out order.

I have to say only good things about it today. It was a Monday night so it wasn't crowded and the service was impeccable (except for not originally giving me a salad in my to-go order). Kim and I went around 7pm. I had a Bellini (a peach nectar and champagne drink). It was quite good.

We ordered our entrees and they brought us our bread and salads. The bread basket is great. It's filled with a few pieces of focaccia and long dinner rolls. They give you a plate of olive oil with salt, pepper, and grated cheese to dip in. The salad is also very good. A wooden bowl of romaine lettuce, black olives, ripe tomatoes, and white cannelloni beans topped with a slightly sweet delicious house dressing. I always have liked their salad and Kim was very pleased too. We both ate the entire bowl full.

We then received our entrees. Tortelloni Michelangelo is a large tortellini stuffed with cheese, chicken, and prosciutto. Covered in a cream sauce and cheese and baked. It was excellent and filling. I will eat the rest for lunch today along with the salad that came with our to-go order of Chicken Parm (Pollo Parma) with a side of fettuccini alfredo for David. They charged me $2 extra for the alfredo sauce but it was worth it because David was very pleased with his meal and ate it all. Kim also liked her lobster ravioli very much.

I usually order the Ravioli David which is delicious. It is ravioli with a sage and butter sauce. This is a traditional Tuscan sauce. It was actually very hard to stray from this sure thing but it was worth it.

All and all we had a very pleasant time and the food was great as usual. The price for three meals and two alcoholic drinks was about $57 plus tip. Not so bad. I highly recommend the Tuscan Tavern for dinner and for take out. They give you all the trimming with take-out…Salad and a little bag of breads with every entree. Plus you don’t have to tip anyone.
