Death by paella

Met up with icemachine - on his latest transatlantic jaunt - and some other amigos at La Tasca in Ealing last night.

Witty and entertaining company as always, although unfortunately I was not quite so enamoured with the food which, for £23 a head, was fairly average. Plus we were duped into paying £44.75 for paella - and while admittedly it was possibly the largest serving this side of the Guiness Book Of Records and was indeed large enough to feed the five-thousand (let alone the five of us,) it was about 20-times the size that we had expected and coming on the back of around a dozen portions of assorted tapas, was rather more than we could handle. Bellies were stretched to breaking point. Plus, it should be said, it was somewhat on the stodgy side.

Twas good as always to see icemachine and despite everything above, fine times were had, much sangria was drunken and belts were loosened a good couple of notches.

Also, this weekend we finally got the painting and decorating finished and we're absolutely exhausted. I'm going to be heading back to work for a rest next week.
