Okay, not really.
However I did donate a pint of my type O positive on Friday. Being the 'universal donor' blood type I find regular donations to be very fulfilling. Not as awesome as having one of the AB types...but then again if I'm ever in need I won't have to worry as much. Best part about the whole process (other than saving up to three lives, of course) would be the frosted animal crackers. Nah, I do find it more amusing than it should be to know that my blood will be circulating in random individuals I'll never have the chance to meet. Makes me wonder how many people I can get inside in my lifetime. Sadly, I'm 25 and I've haven't even racked up two gallons in total. (There are sixteen pints to one gallon) I think I'm nearing the halfway point to my next gallon...but in truth I can't remember. Something about the occasional low blood iron semi non-issue.
I have (for the record) found out that blood donations followed hours later by a trip to the local winery make for a cheap but fun get together evening. A heavy drinker I am not, but there is this whole high tolerance thing to get over. So usually I have a beer or whisky (neat, thank you) or two and call it an evening before driving the usual suspects home.
On an unrelated note: The Usual Suspects is a great movie. Right up there with Dead Poets Society, The Shawshank Redemption, and Fight Club...to name a few.
For the record, the next installment of my crossover 'fic is sitting at a scant 2,600+ words. More than likely to be finished up tomorrow evening after work and posted. More trying to figure out where exactly I want to leave it. I could split two 2k-ish word parts or I could have one "massive" posting. Silly things to debate, I know. All and all, they work out either as a single edition or two small stand alones.
Haven't figured out a name for it yet; but it's working title of "Angels and Demons" is currently saved to my hard drive. Probably won't go with that one...a lot of my works end up with working titles that usually get changed at the last moment. Not that it's a bad thing.
In case anyone has noticed MacGyver's staring role as my LJ icon for personal posts...I am a child of the 80's. MacGyver ranked up there on the list of awesome things to watch while growing up. I mean, come on. The guy can do anything, make anything with a few simple household items. Not to mention he was a government spy. How cool was that?
As such, I leave my readership with
this little gem. Enjoy!
