Last weeks stuff
As always, sorry for the delay, things are very very busy at the moment!
Am currently organising the semis and Final of the Courier. Which is fun, and is going well,. but is taking up all of my time. Oh well, keeps me honest! (well, sort of!)
Last week was brilliant. Managed to convince K I had arranged nothing for Valentines day, and then got to surprise her by taking her to her favourite restaurant in Edinburgh! Was then very smug for the whole night!
Went home yesterday for Sunday lunch, which was quite fun. Drank far too much, and am suffering this morning. Also had to put up with smugness of K, who thought my self-imposed condition was very amusing. Also had lunch last week with bemusedsurvivor and mahonsstandrews, which was fun - even if the girls spent half the night admiring the male figure skaters bottoms!
Went up to Aberdeen for their iv on Saturday, which was fun. As always, I was conscripted to speak at the last minute, with Greg Murray of all people! And just like last year, we finished fifth on Tab, missing the final by one point! Of course, coming (joint) second on the Speaker tab assuaged some of my annoyance. More importantly, I am really enjoying my debating at the moment, and couldn’t care less about how well it goes. I am far too old to worry about my reputation, and judge so full that I really shouldn’t be able to compete with the young ones. Just goes to show how good a coach K is I guess!
Anyway, I have semi-finals on Monday and Tuesday, possibly LPH on Wednesday, Law Soc Regional Final on Thursday, and then the Glasgow/Strathclyde/Edinburgh iv weekend of doom. And then the Grand Final will be on the third of March. When I intend to get more drunk than last year!
