Today has been an absolute waste of a day. I had a million things to do tonite and we didn't get home until almost 8:00. Its 10:30 and I still have to make stuff for my Tastefully Simple party tomorrow, but I have to wait for the kitchen floor to dry (don't ask, it was easier this way). Anyways....I don't have much to tell right now. I'm doing Operation Shoebox (or project Shoebox or whatever it is called) again this year. I like shopping for the stuff to put in the boxes. Its lots of fun. :) So that at least made it worth it.
Oh wait. THAT'S RIGHT. I had a RANT! I haven't done one of those in a while. So I was looking for Thanksgiving stuff (bathroom towels, tablecloth, disposable plates, etc). Walmart had oodles and oodles of Christmas stuff, but no Thanksgiving stuff. Same with the dollar store and the same with Target. NOTHING. Its' TWO WEEKS before Thanksgiving. Why can I not find decorative stuff??? Do we skip straight from Halloween to Christmas? Do stores not order enough Thanksgiving stuff, that little known holiday between candy greed and present greed? W. T. H.? I was sooo mad that it wasn't even funny. Its ridiculous. I am NOT decorating my house for Christmas until the first week of December. I am not ready to THINK about Christmas, DESPITE what the greedy retailers tell me I want to do. I WANT to think about the holiday that I am having at my house called THANKSGIVING. You know, the one with turkeys and pumpkins and cornucopia and things like that? So, if Walmart and Target are listening. Next year I shouldn't have to shop in August to buy stuff for Thanksgiving. its not like I waited until the week before. Thanksgiving is TWO weeks from yesterday!
Okay. So what do you think about the retailer's treatment of holidays? Christmas to Valentine's Day to Easter to the Fourth of July to Halloween to Christmas?
