Yes, I know. I am long overdue for a post. I've been saying all week that I am going to post. Now I don't have an excuse, because I was laid up, but...other things kind of took precedence. (Like Bejeweled Blitz over on facebook, uhh. reading, uhhh, bittenbybooks.com work...yeah. I've been busy. really. LOL)
Anyways. FIrst off. The reason I was laid up. Bees. Ugh. I've been stung a total of three times in my like. The second and third times were a week apart, in the same ankle. Turns out there was a beehive in progress under my porch step. Duh. So, my foot swelled up not so pretty after the second sting. Now, I'd already been off work a week, unpaid, right? Imagine telling my boss that I have to be out another day and a half? Not cool. LOL. Anyways, so I was at home half the week with the foot propped up and on ice. And taking fun meds. :P No sewing, but I got some reading and comp stuff done. Now I can't wait to get off my butt.
So before I was stung...I had gotten some quilty stuff done this summer so far.
I made three of these:
I finished my summer door hanging:
I finished my spring wallhanging as well, using Califon fabrics by Mark Lipinski:
I am close to finishing my other fairy quilt, but I have a little more of the binding to do, so I won't post pics til its done. I'm not completely happy with my quilting job on it, but I'll learn how to machine quilt....eventually. I tried using basting spray, but apparently you still need safety pins. Which makes no sense to me whatsoever.
We saw fireworks on the fourth up in Canonsburg. That was pretty cool. I didn't make the parade this year because we were out until all hours of the night with friends over in McDonald, PA. They have a pretty cool McSummerfest every year.
I really thought I'd have a lot more to post about, but apparently, my life lately has been pretty dull. I had a good unpaid week off, except for the unpaid part. We had family birthday parties that week. Mackenzie turned one and Madison turned two (daughters of two of Petey's brothers). Petey and I went to Kennywood. That was pretty cool. If you've seen Adventureland, this is where it was filmed! :)
Kennywood has some cool roller coasters. They have the Thunderbolt:
The Steel Phantom
And the Racer. If you look in the background, you can see the Jack Rabbit:

I also went to the Strip District with my sister-in-law and Petey's step-mother and we also took my Gram to lunch that week. So I was a pretty busy girl. :)
I really owe a post about the Pens Victory parade, but I'll just post a link to the pics since it was sooo long ago now. Needless to say, chaos, mayhem and LOTS of fun! :)

Okay. That's about all for me for now. I really don't have as much to write about as I thought. And unfortunately, my review pile is growing with all this time I've had to sit and read lately. Since I couldn't sew. *pout*.
Thanks for reading and have a great night!
