We got a fake Christmas tree. First time since... yeah, since ever. As "the seniors" would say, I'm "so pissed." I came home from Burlington yesterday and it was planted in the corner. They knew better than to put that shit up while I was home. Ugh. Anyway, had a wonderful weekend with my girlfriend. Highlights: went to the Bella Voce holiday concert with Sullivan (phenomenal women's choir that Chelsie Henderson is a part of), feasted on some delicious Myer's bagels, watched 3 Whoopi Goldberg HBO specials, took some naps and made brunch both days. So yeah it was great. I got a book in the mail today... one I've been waiting for for a while. Acid Dreams, the Complete Social History of LSD: The CIA, the Sixties, and Beyond. Nate was reading it at work so I took a peek. I'm most interested in the counterculture that LSD defined in the sixties.
"...the book tells how the CIA became obsessed with LSD as an espionage weapon during the early 1950s and launched a massive covert research program, in which countless unwitting citizens were used as guinea pigs. Though the CIA was intent on keeping the drug to itself, it ultimately couldn't prevent it from spreading into the popular culture; here LSD had a profound impact and helped spawn a political and social upheaval that changed the face of America."
I'm VERY excited about the Gigs concert coming up, I've heard from quite a few people that the Gigs are AWESOME this semester.... can't wait! Well, I'm going to lunch with Bittner, see you girls this weekend! :oD
