8x07 Sum of the Vectors
[Esther is at the reception with Teresa]
Esther: Teresa, have the ER trauma reports come up yet?
Teresa: Ay, Esther, you've been asking me things for the past ten minutes. And none of them have been about anything important.
Esther: Well, it's just that they should have arrived!
[Esther is watching the entrance the entire time]
Teresa: I know.
Esther: Have the clothes come in from the cleaners?
Teresa: Okay, look, who are you waiting for?
Esther: Me? Nobody.
Teresa: Then stop staring at the entrance and stop asking me stupid questions!
Esther: Teresa, you're getting worse every day. I'm not watching the door. [looks at the clock] What a silly thing to say!
[Esther walks off]

[Maca arrives]
Maca: Good afternoon, Teresa.
Teresa: Hello.
Maca: [hands over her helmet] Could you keep this here for me?
Teresita: Mmh mmh. One of these days you're going to have to give me a ride on your bike, eh?
Maca: Whenever you want, but you'll have to wear pants. Don't want to take you to the amazon.
Teresa: Mmh mmh.
Maca: How has your day been?
Teresa: Fine. Patients have come. Some serious, some not so serious...
Maca: You're a real poet today, huh?
[Maca leaves and Rusti shows up. He and Teresa chat a little and then Esther walks to them]
Esther: Teresa...
Teresa: Before you ask me another stupid question, yes.
Esther: Yes what?
Teresa: She arrived, can't you see the helmet? [to Rusti, referring to their earlier chat] With all due respect, and I don't mean to offend, I believe that you don't have anything to do with Maca, eh?
Rusti: Why not?
Teresa: Hmph, because.

[Maca is changing into her doctor's coat when Esther walks in]
Esther: May I?
Maca: Come in.
Esther: Hello.
Maca: Hello. [Esther stays by the door] You can come in. I don't bite, or at least not always.
Esther: I didn't see you yesterday.
Maca: I switched shifts with Salinas.
Esther: Yeah, you didn't tell me.
Maca: No, I didn't tell you.
Esther: Did you go up to the mountains?
Maca: No, in the end I just stayed home.
Esther: I ended up doing nothing this weekend too.
Maca: I didn't say that I did nothing. I just said that I didn't go up to the mountains.
Esther: Do you have something to do right now?
Maca: I don't know about you, but I'm going up to pediatrics. [she opens the door and is about to leave but stops at the last moment] Eh...Esther, did you want something?
Esther: No, no, I just wanted to...to say hi.
Maca: Okay then. Hello. [the way Maca says "Hola" here is pure sex! <3]
Esther: Hello.

[Maca is sitting at a table in the cafeteria, looking through some papers, when Esther shows up with two coffees]
Esther: Hello. [she sits] Double coffee with a splash of cold milk and no sugar. I already know how you like it.
Maca: Thanks, but I've already had one. [Esther's face drops a little] But I can definitely have another. Another coffee is always welcome. [she takes a sip]
Esther: How's your afternoon been?
Maca: Good, I'm just sitting here with some reports.
Esther: [a little nervous] Listen, I wanted to...to...I wanted to talk to you about...about the other day...about the kiss.
Maca: Yeah... I'm sorry, I didn't mean to offend you.
Esther: No, no, no. You didn't offend me.
Maca: Well, you jumped like I gave you a shock instead of a kiss.
Esther: Yeah... I want to...I want to do it again.
Maca: [surprised, but in a happy way] Now? Ummm, I don't think this is the time or place. But we have time, don't worry.
[she gets up and leaves]

[Esther is with a boy, Sevi, and his father in one of the rooms. Maca walks in]
Maca: Well, Sevi, no complaints from you, huh? You are with the prettiest nurse in the entire hospital.
Esther: [smiling] I've given him the insulin.

[One of the best scenes ever!]
Background info: two girls came into the ER. They're diving partners and it turns out that they are also girlfriends.
[Esther and Héctor are talking as they walk towards the elevator]
Héctor: She made an impression, huh?
Esther: Why?
Héctor: A nice, pretty and sporty girl... And it turns out she plays for the other side. You didn't know, right?
Esther: I didn't, she didn't say anything.
Héctor: She didn't need to say anything to you. [they get on the elevator and guess who's there?] Hello Maca.
Maca: Hello.
Héctor: (to Esther) Would you believe that this is all very exciting for me?
Esther: What floor are you going to? You're staying on four, right?
Héctor: Yup.
[elevator doors close]
Maca: What is so exciting, Héctor?
Héctor: There was a patient today. Very pretty, and a lesbian... But precious, right Esther?
Maca: Yeah, Esther? Was she precious?
Héctor: She was a sweetheart. I can imagine her with her friend, in love... Tender, isn't it?
Maca: You're telling me...
Esther: Great, we get it. Alright, Hector?
Héctor: Forgive me, I know this is such a guy thing, but I think it's a spirtual thing. Their love is pure. Without the male agressiveness, or contamination with testosterone. I don't know... I think that for women, the most important things are friendship, companionship, and affection. There isn't any mistrust, it's all sweetness and love.
[the elevator doors open]
Esther: [to Héctor] Your floor!
Héctor: Ah. Later ladies!
[the doors close again. Esther turns to Maca and kisses her. They gaze at each other, smiling before hugging. The doors open yet again and Rusti is waiting outside]
Rusti: O... [they spring apart and Esther stares at the floor] Ahhh...bye.
[he leaves]
Maca: [with a serious tone] I'm sorry, Esther.
[Esther starts to laugh and Maca joins in soonafter]

[Esther is standing at the doorway of the room where the diver girls are sitting on the bed together. Maca walks in and taps Esther on the arm]
Maca: Esther. [they leave the room] What are you doing here?
Esther: Nothing, working. Did you...did you know that they were lesbians?
Maca: Lesbians? How would I know?
Esther: But... I don't know, you didn't notice?
Maca: No, I didn't notice. I don't have a sign that says "I'm a lesbian." [Esther laughs] I had no idea. You're so silly.
[laughing, Esther shoves her on the arm]

[Rusti is in the supply closet when Esther walks in]
Esther: Finally I found you!
Rusti: [drops the sheets and both of them reach down, knocking their heads together] Sorry! Ouch...
Esther: Ufff...Ouch... Rusti, what...what you saw before between Maca and me...
Rusti: I didn't see anything, okay?
Esther: Don't try to be discrete. We both know perfectly well that you know what we were going.
Rusti: But... I'm fine with it. It doesn't matter to me.
[he keeps fussing with the sheets]
Esther: [takes the sheets and puts them down] But can you keep quiet about it? This is new for me, and I don't mean the fact that she's a woman. Rather, she's someone who understands me, talks to me, and...
Rusti: And what?
Esther: She makes me feel special, Rusti. Like I'm unique and important. Nobody has ever... I don't know, nobody has ever made me feel like this.
Rusti: Nobody?
Esther: Nobody.
Rusti: And is she...is she like you? I mean, you know, is she new to "this"...or has she always liked "this?"
Esther: Why is that important?
Rusti: Of course it's important! It's not the same if you come into this with experience...rather than starting fresh. She can teach you stuff, huh?
Esther: You're such a brute! I don't know why bother telling you anything!
[Esther starts walking away]
Rusti: A brute? It's just a question! So I can...so I can know, right?
