i wish i could bottle up this summer and drink it up when i'm old and grey. there has been so much dance partying (spontaneous, the best) and 2-on-1 bike action. delicious food, bare limbs, world cup-watching, handstands, coffee, laying around. maybe the best summer i have ever had.

things to remember from last night or recently:
- marco's dance moves (wash the armpits, make the pizza)
- being reminded as i peed by a police station bush about the first night i talked with michele til the early morning that: as i was clumsily and drunkenly walking my bike, i dropped it, ran behind a tree, lifted my skirt and peed like nobody's business! i guess while i was peeing, i asked him, "oh is this awkward?"
- a great, great, great dance party
- the amazing dinner @ gennaro's. veronica, tripta and i + oh maybe 8? italians and a mexican (oh haha language barriers). wine. octupus +lemon + garlic + greens. clams + olive oil + white wine + more?. hot, crusty loaves of bread. a treat from naples that gennaro's mom sent him with a pseudo-bruschetta. a fruit salad that made me want to explode, painfully. hahah. too much food.
then we sat around in the beautiful outside while pasquale and marco played guitar and people sang. with the best garlic breath ever!! hahaha. also, we started watching a sofia loren movie outside on someone's laptop.
- michele's appointment with his professor to return his tv (no, really to sign his thesis)
- photography advice from pasquale
- biking and talking with michele, buying cigarettes at the gas station, a certain gentleman telling us his crazy-ass life story outside on the curb and giving us free beer on the way to the impromptu apt dance party @ alessia's

so, tonight is michele's birthday. i'm taking him out to radio maria... i hope $60 is enough . i got an advance on tomorrow's paycheck, but didn't think i should ask for a bigger one.

oh!! and i gave pasquale this photo, one of my favorites, that i took in india. it was in the awning of a temple and of an old man playing a stringed instrument. in the foreground are some beautiful women in colorful saris. above the man is a flourescent strip and a clock.
... when i gave him the photo, he noticed the time ... it was the same exact time on a round clock in the photo and in real life when i gave the photograph. amazing! beautiful

okay gtgahghgh must get bike
love,
ros
