It was amazing! It's an incredibly in-depth analysis of Homer's writings and motives and characters. This is the type of analysis you can't do on your own unless you've studied that historical period (and that which came before and after it) and those writers for years.

I highly recommend it. Alexander is a wonderful writer (her book The Bounty is on my favorites list as well), and the book just kept getting better and better.

I think you'll love it. It focuses more on Achilles than anyone else. I don't have any special interest in Homer but this one sucked me in immediately.
