So last semester CSU got sick of everyone complaining that the study guides for all courses were late. To resolve this issue rather than last years promised study guides 28 days before classes it changed to 14 days. Sydney Theatre Company's January and February schedule is awesome! And thankfully I haven't booked flights home yet so I can work my schedule around them. So my birthday present from Jack was tickets to both nights of War of the Roses so I spent my birthday watching Cate Blanchett on stage for the second night running... I am so glad that I checked at the last minute for tickets to this. And even happier that there were tickets left. This is my favourite of the comedies so to see it at midnight on midsummers night at the Globe was just incredible. First of have to say Bush Theatre is an interesting performance space. It's about the size of a large classroom and it only sits 80 people in bench style seating that frames the stage like a horseshoe and no seating is allocated you sit where there is space. For the long weekend rather than put on the plays that have (and will be) running for summer they put on 5 performances of the Footsbarn Companys performance piece "Footsbarns Shakespeare Party". Rather than being a straight play or even excerpts from a bunch of plays it was more of a mixture of everything with performance, song, puppets and dance ( Read more... )

I've been waiting for the Globe season to begin so i could see something. And it was awesome. I was in the seated area rather than the standing I figured with Lear being over 3 hours and fairly heavy standing would be too much.
