Tuesday night was probably the best night of my life so far. I watched a film called The English Patient with Liu Li and then we laid on my bed together whilst paging through a Chinese-English dictionary and saying funny things and laughing. I can speak a little Chinese and she a little English. It's pretty crazy. We were there, on my bed, for what seemed like an eternity - I wish it was. I held her in my arms. I could feel her warmth, her life...
Then I took her home on my scooter. It was pouring rain and dark. She held an umbrella over us, but it was no use for me because we were going straight into the rain. I kept yelling: "Umbrella!" Her: "Shenme?!" (What?!) "The thing you're holding! It's over my eyes and we're going to die!" Her: "O." That's when the language barrier hits you in the face. I love it, though. Next time no umbrellas, though. =P
When we got to her dormitory she was standing under the umbrella (She didn't get wet! MISSION ACCOMPLISHED) and I was in the rain trying to fix a light on the scooter. I leaned in for a kiss and she pulled away because she said some classmates came by. Then when they were gone she kissed me quick and ran inside, while I winked at her and drove off. I was like: "Wo0t! I'm so madly in love", I said to myself in Dutch. "Wait... I can't feel my legs..." My legs were numb from being wet and the wind from riding the scooter.
