The ones we've got in our first aid kit are blue, and so my injured thumb looks like the result of a Smurf wearing a condom.

At least from what I recall from watching Chef!, bandaids in culinary settings are usually blue to avoid any embarassing mishaps where they might fall into certain dishes and go unnoticed.
