skiing...

During the little weekend we’ve got for the celebration of 23 February - the day of Defender of the Fatherland I’ve decided skiing at near city which I liked so much during our summer raids - Tarusa. It was luckily a sunny day to practice in taking pictures, the vastness of Oka River was pleasing the eyes. We were skiing three hours and done I believe the eight kilometers distance which is not big but comfortable for my wife.

There were not many people skiing on the river this day and some fishermen.

This unfrozen part of the river as I can understand is formed with the water from the city treatment facilities and if the technology is working as it should the water has to be more clear than it is in the river. The presence of local fishermen is proving it better than anything, I hope.

Seeing these houses on the bank of river my wife immediately started telling me that she likes to have one here which is not surprising though the prices for sites here certainly will be, I guess.

Sun lights reflecting from the snow what could be better for a winter pic?

Some people are enjoying the snowmobiles here though it is not that safe as it turned out later - the ice at some places is very thin and was crackling under us with the deep, low, piercing sound which has made my wife very interested in farther skiing.

I've decided to drive to watch this strange not straight standing house.

Turned out it is the houseboat standing at the quay for the better summer days.

After some hundreds of meters we have saw a more big version of living on the water facility.

The ice-hole, maybe there is a Russian sauna inside this house on water?

Here looking on this big site and a house on it I was thinking about the differences of people desires because on the opposite bank were huddling the small temporal fishermen shacks to help not so prosperous people to stand the rains and winds during their fishing.

You could see there these little shacks.

Here we were moving beside some hotel on the bank where people were enjoying a sledding from bank's slide, fishing and drinking of course - it is the Day of Defender... I had a little chat with fisherman about where it is better to fish though I am not a fisherman I've assumed that it would be better to go on other side of river where the locals are fishing and there it is deeper.

Meanwhile sun has started to go down and the temperature started to drop palpably.

While we were eating the snowy distance some guys were flying on helicopter, there is the small airport near at Drakino park and during our summer weekend some kilometers up the river I saw a plane flying several meters above the river surface but the guys on helicopter were not willing to show us some interesting tricks and maybe were hurry to buy some beer at local shop.

Visible falling of the sun.

We've got back to city when the sun has got nearly out of sky.
