When I'm drunk I tend to focus on my grammar and spelling more. If I'm sending a text I really hone in on what I'm typing and telling myself to not be that chick that is obviously drunk texting. I enjoyed this writing experiment!

Once upon a time, when I was in college, I spent an evening with friends trying to get high on grass. No not real fresh from the backyard grass, the kind you roll up in cigarette paper and pass around. It didn't take, for a couple of days. (I'm so weird.) In the meantime I decided to write some poetry. Big, self-indulgent, mistake.

This turned out so much better than my Dylan Thomas attempt. You think it could have been the medium? ;-)

Raw and brilliant. You don't give yourself enough credit, truly. I know you've had a lot of major life roadblocks hitting you lately, but I hope you never doubt the strength of your writing talent.

I liked this experiment, which I also think was not a failure. ;)

I don't really have a drunkHalfshell version, so the closest I've come to this is letting my brain half-unhinge to try to let the half-asleep part of me write. It's good for at atmospheric, dreamlike writing. Best use ever? Accessing it repeatedly to let it write parts of a fanfic sequel to "The Love Song of J. Alfred Prufrock." That work has a slightly surreal feeling to me, and that's the part of the brain that really aligns with it.
