MENTAL NOTE: Need to place a call with my student insurance and find out why they haven't paid anything on the bill for my recent hospital stay (did an overnight sleep study a few months back.)
Right now I'm talking phone calls for Home Shopping Network. Man, getting a lot of bitchy people today... You see, the first thing I'm supposed to say is, "Hi, my name is Mike, may I have your item number please?" (item number being the six digit number flashed on the tv scree to represent whatever is being sold.) Anyway, some people they're like, "eightsevensixnineeightfourtwo." And, I'm thinking, "Whoa, slow down!!"
I usually get the first three numbers, but the other three I'm not so sure about. So I siad, "I'm sorry, I didn't catch that..." and then I'll pause, for them to repeat it. Silence. So I go, "That was, seven eight five.. nine six four?" And she's like, "No, nine four six" a little more huffily than need be.
I've also on occasion gotten people who'll go through the WHOLE freaking order, then I give them the total, and they find out what they'll have to pay like five dollars or so in tax, and they're like, "What, forget it, cancel my order." And I'm thinking, "What the hell? You cheap bastard, you're paying hundred bucks for a stupid bracelet and you want ot cancel because you have to pay FIVE extra dollars/ "You cheap bitch," I wanted to scream, "Get the hell off my phone!" But I just calmly said, "Okay, sorry to hear that."
Oh, this is great... customer calls in and wants to order a earring/pendant set. She's looking at it online and it comes in five colors: agate, clear, serpintine, smoky quartz, green. Problem is, there's NO labels on any of the colors, I guess we're all just supposed to supernaturally know which color is which (never mind that two colors both look green.)
So, I figure look up other items of the same color/stone and that should help us. I look up agate and EVERY example they give is a light blue color. But guess what, this paricular item has NO light blue colors. AHHHH!
Anyway, called my friends at Sales Assist and we manged to get it sorted out eventually.
Now, it's been a several of "quick" calls. No orders, just people needing transfer to customer services and whatnot.
