I remember one time while waiting in the dentist I was reading a Clifford the Big Red Dog book, and I have to say it was pretty funny.  Basically, the dog's owner finds a kitten and starts paying more attention to it than Clifford, so he starts mimicking the kitten's behavior to try and be cute.  Like when the girl lays a kitten on its back in an old cradle, Clifford lays down in the back of an empty dump truck (there's a construction crew nearby fixing the road.)  Kitten starts scratching on a post, Clifford scratches on a telephone pole.  Kitten plays with a spool of thread, Clifford began playing with a large spool of pipe.

Well.. I guess it's something you had to have seen yourself. :-)

On a sidenote though, I do find it weird no one in that universe seems to be disturbed by a fifty foot dog walking around.  Even assuming he's perfectly friendly, and doesn't accidentally destroy stuff while simply wagging his tail around, you'd think CLEANING UP after him would be a cause for concern.
