Here's one of the things I don't like about my shift... I get off around 7:35 or so, and, sometimes, I have things I need to do in Marion (the town where the hotel I work at is located) at places that don't open until NINE. So, it's like, what the hell am I supposed to do for the next hour and twenty minutes? Can't visit the mall, it's not open, not bookstores, don't know where the local library for that town is (probably wouldn't be open anyway.) I live about twenty minutes away, so going home and then coming back later in the day isn't that practical.
So, that kind of bugs me.
One of the things I'd been meaning to do is have some photos printed up at Wal-Mart. You see, they've got this thing now where you can go to the electronics sections, put your flash card (or a memory card) into one of their machines, select digital pictures and then have them printed. At the one nearest me, you can get 4x6 prints for about .30 cents each. Strangely enough though, for a 6 x 8 it's about $4.30 each, quite a price jump. (And I'm not sure they have sizes in between.)
Inexplicably, these machines are also NOT turned on until 9am.
Finally, I managed to stop by there sometime after nine and got several photos printed out. Mostly pics I took myself of my nieces and nephews, including this neat pic I did of my oldest niece where I took a picture of her, turned the photo black and white, and then added just bits and pieces of the color back in.
So, I left the store, got home, and realized I forgot to by some FRAMES in which to put the photos and hang them up on my walls (which was the main purpose of getting the photos printed in the first place.) So, yesterday, I remembered to get a few frames, and did a bit of picture hanging. I got one frame with four 4x6 spots, a frame with two 4x6 spots, and a small frame with just one 4x6 spot. The one with the four spots, I put pictures in, the but other two I wasn't sure what I wanted to fill them with. I mean, only printed about 13 pictures, and one (the photo I just mentioned) I decided I wanted to put it in a two 4x6er with a copy of the original photo (which I didn't get printed.)
So, decided to wait on using the other two, to print more pics and maybe get some more frames. I tell ya, they frames are a bit harder to hang up than I thought they would be. They only have this small triangle to hang it up on, and it's hard to get the on the hanger when you can't SEE the hanger (because you know, the triangle is on the back of the picture. Er.. does that make sense?
