Animal Visiting Day at the Office

This morning I went out to get a CD from the van, when the neighborhood mastiff, "Precious" (yes, that's really her name!), stopped by for a visit. She's really friendly and puppy like, I'm guessing she's 1-2 years old. Only problem is I didn't see her, so I'm walking into the office, with my back to the parking lot, swinging my arms...when my hand comes contact with something cold and wet. Yipes!

Luckily for me I didn't scream which is odd because my startle factor is usually pretty high. When I stopped to pet her and tell her no, she can't come in the office, she proceeds to try to jump up and lick my face (very puppy like). She's easily 150-200 pounds - I like dogs and all but I really didn't want her jumping on me. Again I'm lucky because she didn't, but she did step on my foot. And it hurt.

This afternoon, I step away from my desk, when I returned there is a little brown bat flying around the office. We have no idea and I mean no idea how it got in. All the doors and windows are closed, after all it's still close to freezing out. A co-worker quickly catches it and releases it outside. Now we're on the look out for more bats.
