For all the great things you've done and all the great things you are bound to do. . .
And I'm not considering this my universal "thank you" so that I never have to say it again. I'm a thank you person, generally.
I'm sure you've taken into consideration the extenuating circumstances in life. Like the "I'm sorry someone really important to you just died," or the "Hope you recover soon after your amputation" sort of things some times don't get the thank yous, and that's ok. Clearly, that person is having trouble talking right now and has to focus on getting out of bed in the morning before they can thank everyone for the support they received during their "dark time."
But if you sent Mother's Day cards or something like that and never heard back, that sucks. And you can't exactly just decide not to send them the next year. Then you DO hear from them. "And I didn't even get a card for Mother's Day!"
Crap. That's all it is: crap. Personally, I blame Hallmark. We'd all be happier if they hadn't invented so many reasons to send their silly expensive greetings. Then people would have to actually think of what to say on their own and we might take a step towards real relationships. No, can't have that. . .
Rant way, sister. That's a great reason LJ is here. Love you
