I really feel that people are becoming less gracious. Back in my day when you sent a gift, card, call, email, etc. you usually got some form of response.
Apparently not any more. I am not singling out any one person because I have noticed this as a growing trend among the people I know and know of. Maybe it's very old fashioned of me but when someone has taken time and/or money out of their lives to specifically agknowlogde or celebrate or cheer up or whatever the very least that the receiving person can do is say - thanks. Some people do that with a simple thank you note, others a phone call, but something.
So my options are 1. Mention it to said person and have them whine about all the things in their lives that keep them too busy to reply while thinking in my head - "Yeah and I sit around waiting for the next big moment in your life? 2. Stop being the friend/family member that I would like to have and therefor begin a spiral down the crappy person slide. or 3. Bitch on livejournal and still try to be the best friend/family person I can while occassionally feeling like the people I love A. don't love me as much as I love them or B. are really lazy and/or crappy people.
Guess which I'll probably choose... :-0
