I finished up the last 8 episodes of Season One of 24 this weekend.

The ending was pretty bloody! Jack discovers that the man he had been sent to kill two years ago, Victor Drazen, is alive and in the custody of the D. O. D. (Dept. of Defense) and his sons are really here to free him. They break into the prison, free their father, and take Jack hostage. Kim is also recaptured by the kidnappers and Jack is released to get to Senator Palmer, but he manages to spoil their attempt to kill him a second time, this time with a bomb in the special phone the Drazen's gave Jack.

Kim manages to escape her captors, but Jack does not know that, so he goes to meet them at the port. Nina, who turns out to be the second mole in CTU (for Germany?) calls Jack and tells him that Kim's body has been discovered in the bay by the Coast Guard, so he goes in shooting and kills the entire Drazen group. When Nina finds out that Jack has survived she knows that her cover is blown, so she takes steps to clear out. Unfortunately, Teri walks in on Nina, so she ties her up. Nina is captured in the parking garage by Jack trying to get away. After reuniting with his daughter inside of CTU, he goes looking for Teri and discovers that she has been shot by Nina, and it appears that she is dead as the last episode ends.

Once again, there any several significant subplots that I haven't mentioned at all. Kim definitely has a thing for Rick, one of the guys that originally kidnapped her. The senator tells his wife he doesn't want to see her again after all of her behind the scenes attempts to control things. I don't know if these tings will carry over into Season Two or not.

The story is unrealistic at times (What Hollywood production isn't?), and some of the events that are supposed to occur in real-time are happening much faster that that, but I enjoyed the first season and am looking forward to Season Two. Mid-winter break is coming in a week, so I hope to work my way through that then!

24, personal
