I got a new Macbook yesterday! I didn't get the unibody one, instead opting for the £300 cheaper white one with almost the same specs at the unibody models. I can't believe what an upgrade this is from my 4 year old PowerBook!

I haven't felt this geeky since... Forever!

I've been using Safari since, like, forever. Since I got a Mac basically. And nothing's ever been better. But now...

It's fast, it's pretty, it imported everything from Safari.

Isn't it just teh awesomeness?!

Not sure how to feel about having Leopard. In some ways, its not as good as Tiger: the Zoom, Minimise and Close buttons are way tackier, but I love how the menus now have rounded edges and those damn stripes are gone. Oh wow... Going from 512mb or RAM 50 1256mb makes a huge difference. So fast! My little PowerBook 12" has new life!

I've come into some money and my first thought it to upgrade my PowerBook to a MacBook. I could go and buy one right now if I wanted. I also have good reason - now that I'm running my own business, I need to use the ATO's e-Tax software, which I would need Parallels or BootCamp for. No, they're not, unfortunately. I had a bad experience with Google Desktop. It's only a Beta so I guess it's my own fault. It installed it's background services which were leaking memory, causing my system to just lag and crash. Getting rid of it was hard, because every time I force quit the leaking thingo, it would open itself again! Turns out the ( Read more... )
