  1. a macrobiotic inspired diet:
I like the idea of macrobiotics- local food and mostly grains, but as far as no sugar/no-dairy/no-meat goes, I can only make a half-hearted attempt to avoid them (except meat, that's easy).
  2. appropriate volumes:
Nothing to do with 8 cubic inches or 500 ccs of water, I like music and voices to be suited to the occasion.
  3. comfortable drinking temperatures:
I don't like to burn my tongue, I'd rather be safer with lukewarm than sorry with scalding!

Persons from the Upper Peninsula of Michigan who have left but know where they came from.
  5. jeanne dielman blue/green:
Chantal Akerman's Jeanne Dielman, 23 Quai du Commerce, 1080 Bruxelles invented, for my sister and I, the colors "Jeanne Dielman Blue", "Jeanne Dielman Green" (+JD Orange/red/etc). Really nice.

The purse-sized calendar I got from the Jet Programme [sic] with such useful information as postage charts and how to say "apendicitis" in Japanese,
  7. split-second crosswalk timing:
Get to the crosswalk, cross the cross walk.

Get to the train, get on the train.
  9. three brownies/three people:
After eating at my favorite restaurant in Japan, Julie, Louise and I ordered
a brownie to share, and it came out in three even pieces.
  10. unattainable foods:
Foods I can never get ahold of but think about eating all the time. In Japan there were a lot of unattainable foods. Now in New York all I can think of are mangosteens.
