I would consider myself a veteran BL fan by now, being into it for ~7-8 years now. Which means I've amassed a rather large collection on my hard drive of everything I've had to opportunity to DL and read over the years. To the point that it's taking up way too much harddrive room and is absolutely tedious to sort through...
I've realized over the years that there isn't a point in keeping manga I won't read again, but I've been trained to have a hard time letting titles go to digital dust. When I started, I don't feel the community was as large, diverse, or accessible as it is now. I read whatever I could get access to.
With so many mangaka and titles scanned up till now, I feel like I have the luxury of picking and choosing what is worth reading/keeping and what isn't. My standards and taste have obviously changed and matured, and Mangaka and titles I previously loved don't all hold up anymore. But still I find old habits difficult to shake. The hardest decision is letting go of difficult to obtain titles despite not enjoying them. The titles released by groups that have dissolved or exclusive releases. Because the fear of not being able to find them again is very real. Despite knowing I'll never reread it, that there are better titles, and that there will be even more titles to enjoy in the future. All the old paranoia creeping in....
