Feeling a bit of fandom rant coming on..
Tonight's issue...casting changes for SGA & GA
I'll start with the Torri/Amanda/Rachel nonsense since it's been going on a bit longer.
Boo-woo, Torri's been reduced to a few and as yet unnumbered episodes. As much I wanted to feel a bit of sympathy for the Weir fans, I just can't. Atlantis will live on without Weir and many of her fans, sry2say but that's no reason to act like you were pushed on the playground and scraped your knee. Get a band-aid and flock to some other show.
But no, instead they decided to talk trash about Amanda, Rachel, Joe M. and anyone else who didn't feel the same die hard conviction to a rather minuscule character. In most cases the show is about the team (Sheppard/McKay/Teyla/Ronon) with a side of Weir here and there. Otherwise, it's the John&Rodney show, either way Weir doesn't always factor into the grand scheme of things.
Teyla=boob/cleavage factor? Well excuse Rachel for having such a nice body and the costume department for not sticking her in a burlap sack. Teyla brings a lot to the table and I'll leave it at that, for now.
Go bitch to your heart's content in your own journals/blogs/whatever without tossing them into forums/general communities for the attention.
I'll just stick to calm, loyal but not obnoxiously loud fans I know on MSN ;)
And now Addison, her spin-off and her castmates 'alleged' reaction.
I prefer Addison on Grey's Anatomy but that's not the end of the story for me. I'll be opened minded about her spin-off and watch it because it's been stated that if it bombs there's a clause in her contract that keeps her spot in Seattle Grace warm.
Although, awkward much if/when that happens?
It seems the cast have given the lovely Kate Walsh the cold shoulder, which if it true is very disheartening. I can see why they would resent her for her success but she deserves it,imo and now that it is public it's damaging to the already tenuous image of the cast.
And wtf on Ellen for thinking/saying she needs to be consulted on spin-off because she's the star? Um no, Meredith is Shonda's brainchild you just get to play her.
Now there's rumors Heigl wants a bigger salary and feels as though she's being treated unfairly. Oh please. Izzie seems to a favored intern as far as plotline/story arcs go. Not to mentioned a decent if not stellar fan base.
I don't get all this nonsense but oh well. It's tv and the writers/creators will do what they think is best for their show.
