Amazingly my laptop has returned, and nothing seems to be damaged.
It showed up this morning on a colleague's doorstep. I don't even have that person's info on my laptop, let alone their home address. This means that the culprit has a strong connection to YCA. Which is a fuckin shame. Come on, guys, you should know better than to steal someone's laptop, let alone one belonging to your own people!!! So I am very disappointed in someone, though I don't know whom.
I checked the file records to see what had been opened. Apparently whoever was using my computer listened to some Lupe Fiasco and Saul Williams, tried to search for porn on my computer (which of course I have none, since I am ethically opposed to it) by going through video clips, tried to install Kazaa (which didn't work, either due to its being an exe file and/or it requiring my login) and downloaded one porn file from somewhere. Pretty pathetic. And annoying.
But I am ecstatic to have my laptop and files back. Time Machine is doing its thing right now, so I'll finally have a backup in case something goes wrong in the future.
