Succumbing to peer pressure
It's a meme. I was tagged by engine_red. Since she's the one who prodded me into actually finishing and posting stories in the first place, I have no choice. I surmise that we are to provide nine random facts about an OC.
9 Facts about Kitaro:
1) Basic stats at the time of The Secret Oasis:
Age: 18
Height: 4'10" (147 cm)
Weight: 120 lbs (54.5 kg)
Waist: 26" (66 cm)
Chest: 32" (81 cm) relaxed.
Blood type: They haven't been discovered yet in his world, and he'd think it a silly way to describe someone even if they had.
2) His hairstyle is typical for men where he comes from, but most can't grow theirs to be as long as his. Most take a bit more care with it too.
3) Especially when he's younger, he often plunges into dangerous situations in a rash way with no regard for his own safety. Lingering survivor's guilt over his first lover's death makes him feel as if he needs to prove his courage, as he never really gets over a sense of shame for what he perceives as cowardice on his part.
4) If nothing kills him he will live to an indefinite old age, at least a millennium, and will look like a teenager until he has a century or two behind him.
5) Lipak, Kitaro's homeland, was originally settled by a very diverse population, which after many generations of intermarriage came to resemble the real-world Mediterranean peoples. Kitaro's mother is from an island in a vast archipelago far to the east analogous to the real-world Japan. She was able to insist on the right to name only her daughter and Kitaro himself, so only those two have Japanese names, and they coincidentally resemble her the most of all her six children.
6) He was born prematurely by six weeks, surviving only due to his innate strong constitution and unusually overdeveloped lungs, after a difficult pregnancy that left his mother unable to bear any more children. This is what initially led his father to dislike him, as he did not fit the picture of a healthy infant, and his continued growth delay only made matters worse. His stature and pigmentation deficiency (evident in his blue eyes and pale complexion) are side effects of his preterm birth.
7) He occasionally needs to be reminded to put clothes on after rising in the morning or bathing. It's just not something he thinks about.
8) He's extraordinarily well-endowed, but in spite of his casual attitude about nudity he is easily embarrassed if anyone comments on the size of his equipment. At such times he will protest that it looks bigger than it really is because his body is so small. This is only partly true.
9) He is addicted to hot baths. If one is available in the town where he happens to be, he will happily spend a couple of hours a day soaking.
