Kinda darkish, definitely not happy but with a touch of comfort at the end. I would say it's nicely twisted and well-written enough to be worth any fan of the pairing's time.

Yep. I fell hard for this fic. It features good plotting, good writing and the character of Auric, who I fell even harder for. There are some very nice twists and enough darkness to have me *glee*ing all the way through.

First thing to mention: this is the first part of a series. I wouldn't read the rest of it, because I think this stands too well on its own. Also, I don't want to see this get a 'resolution', I want this piece to remain in my mind as a rather edgy fic with some moments I haven't seen before and an ending that might be good for one character but might spell heartbreak for another. That's what I'm reccing this fic by the way: there's no neat solutions and definitely not a super-sweet happily ever after ending. It might be evident that there's a fic or two following this one, but, well, I can live with not reading them.

Seriously, I don't know where this came from. It isn't exactly the world's most well-written fic, or even well plotted fic, but somehow it managed to catch me anyway. Perhaps it is because of the uncommon pairing and the way the author actual managed to pull it off in a believable way, perhaps it's because Liz and Tess have to be the cutest couple ever. I'm definitely converted.

Was author-hopping when I found this fic (I've read and liked the author's original fic) and decided to read it in a fit of nostalgy. I'm really happy I did. This is one of the best Seifer/Squall fic out there, and definitely on my top ten list of FFVIII fic. It's been a while since I last read FFVIII fic, but this certainly dragged me into it again.
