1. It came to my attention last week that the Sam/Kara comm I created,
starcrossedlure is ten years old as of January. I'm saddened that I can't think of anything to post in commemoration.
Oh, BSG/SG fandoms, I do miss you so, sometimes.
2. I went through my unfinished crossovers folder and ruthlessly culled the ones I'll never be able to finish (for instance, 40 words does not a plot make, brain. And yet). I now have a list of all of the files with some vague idea what's in them, and, dear god are there a lot of BSG crossovers.
3. Getting through the other unfinished fic folders may take more time, though (and I've just reminded myself of at least one crossover that isn't in the right folder, damn)
4. Still haven't watched any new tv since November. idk. I just haven't felt motivated. If I'd been reading books, I probably would have already surpassed last year's number read. Sadly, it's all been fanfic.
5. It was warm for one brief day this week, now it's cold again. ugh.
6. I made the mistake of following up St. Trinian's with Fellowship of the Ring at work last week. I spent the entire time replacing the cast with St. Trinian's alumni/us.
Frodo = Emma Watson (I know, Hermione Granger is not a St. Trinian girl, but she fits my brain's assumption of Frodo as a woman)
Sam = Annabelle (aside from her loyalty, Annabelle feels oddly perfect as Sam to my brain)
Merry = Zawe Ashton's Bianca
Pippin = Celia
Strider = Ms. Lena Headey (too lazy to look up her character name)
Arwen = Sophie Okonedo (it's my fantasy, and if I want Liz X/Sarah Connor femslash, it's totally allowed, ok?)
Gandalf = Miss Fritton (YOU KNOW IT IS PERFECT)
Bilbo = Maggie Smith. Obvsly.
Legolas = Chelsea Parker
Gimli= Lucy (because these two are so adorable in the second movie. Also, because of who makes sense for Galadrial)
Elrond = Kelly Jones (it's the perfect cameo for Gemma Arterton, ok)
Galadriel = Polly (because Lucy was always in awe of Polly, who was the Geek Leader before her. Also, because the actress has that perfect other-worldly quality about her)
Celeborn = I'm ok with keeping whatsisface, though I could be ridiculous and cast Charlize Theron just for the amusement factor. (and then I would ship Arwen/Celeborn/Strider which is probably Wrong)
Haldir = Harriet (she is a sarcastic and intelligent girl, and Haldir is eye-rolly at everyone)
Boromir = Roxy (she is very flashy and selfish)
Faramir = Andrea (emos have much to live up to. Not least of which is the part where she has a crush on the chav who killed a ringwraith.)
Steward of Gondor = JJ French (I'm lazy, I can't remember his name)
Eowyn = Taylor
Eomir = Peaches
Theoden = Helen Mirren (because why not, also, running out of older St. Trinian's women who are recognizable) (Mirren would have been a Goth with Posh Totty tendencies; her character from Red was a First Year with a penchant for worse trouble than Tara and Tania)
Wormtongue = Flash Harry
Balrog = Geoffrey Thwaites (aka Colin Firth; C'MON, HE IS THE REASON GANDALF IS DEFEATED, it is so beautiful, the love of one wizard for a Balrog)
Gollum = Bursar (I feel this is an obvious one, given the bit in the second movie)
Saruman = Celia Imrie (who better to betray Miss Fritton?)
The Eye = The Twins. (evil likes blowing things up, after all)
