1. But I am not sleepy. Yet.
2. I signed up for
femslash12, and a part of me is terrified that I'll fail at managing to write. But I do keep writing drabbles, so I suppose that's one thing? (
Laura Cadman/Kate Heightmeyer - possibly the fluffiest thing I've ever written, good grief)
3.
womenverse seems to be going well, and it's entertaining.
a. Banners for the comm
b. age re-cast. IE, cast this person as an adult/cast this adult as a child. Also, I got to rattle on about stuff.
1.
True Danziger - J. Madison Wright - Claudia Christian
I actually was going to go with Katee Sackhoff here, when I crossed an image of Susan Ivanova, and omg. IT IS TRUE AS AN ADULT. Thus. Claudia can totally pull off True's brattiness while still being utterly in charge of everything. And, no, she's not a blonde, but True's hair is bound to have darkened anyway (I know mine did, and I used to have white-blonde hair as a child).
2.
Hera Agathon - (several, this image is Alexandra Thomas, I believe) - Rae Dawn Chong
This was harder than I'd thought it would be--Hera's played by three different little girls over the course of the show, so narrowing down a specific look/face was difficult. But then I started poking around and I found this image of Rae Dawn Chong smiling. It's been ages since I've seen her in anything, but I can easily picture her as Hera, presiding over an entire colony of cylon/human hybrids. She's got the solemnity to pull off the role, too. (I already used gravitas once, I really shouldn't use it twice)
3.
Tania and Tara - Holly and Cloe Mackie - Tricia Helfer
This is totally cheating. Also, unfair to Tricia, because it's playing twins. But we know that Tricia can pull off different aspects of the same character, and we know she's capable of blowing things up. So she's perfect to play twins who enjoy mayhem. OK, and it would be Yet Another way to get Tricia doing something I'd like to watch. (I've no idea if Tricia can do the correct accent, also, omg, it's occured to me that Hermione Norris would also be amazing as grown-up Tania and Tara, and I'm also possibly terrified by that idea)
4.
Zoe Carter - Jordan Hinson - Shirley MacLaine
BECAUSE. idek. No, seriously, because MacLaine is amazing, and has great comedic timing and a charming, witty personality. But she's also not afraid to laugh at herself, and she can nail serious beats as well as the comedy. OK, mostly, also, because of the look on Jack's face when his aged daughter from the future appears and starts upbraiding him. (ok, mostly because Steel Magnolias always makes me giggle) and I know MacLaine's a redhead, but idc.
5.
Elora Danan - Kate&Ruth Greenfield - Gates McFadden
Because when I think playful, violence-loving redheads... well, that's not entirely true. But I do think Gates has the playfulness easily done. And she probably does enjoy a good scrap. Perhaps it's just the making magic and becoming a powerful wizard that might be difficult for her. Also, I think I love the idea of a Star Trek actor getting to play a role in George Lucas' epic. It would be like crossing the streams.
4. I've been listening to Hans Zimmer soundtracks. I feel like I should be writing Epic Fic of some sort.
5. I haven't watched ANY tv outside of The Pretender (and Doctor Who, because rully) in weeks. So, PoI, Haven, etc... I'm a bit behind (I did watch Elementary, of course. But that was ages ago).
6. Updated book list (I'm still slogging through Lucie Abrauc's biog and Vi Kochendoerfer's WWII memoir)
Book list:
Many, many regency romance anthologies with short stories and novellas by various authors. Some were re-reads.
The Rowan by Anne McCaffrey (re-read. I needed trashy space opera.)
Rumpole for the Defence by John Mortimer (pretty sure this was a re-read, though it's been ages)
A Rumpole Christmas by John Mortimer
Rumpole and the Angel of Death by John Mortimer
Rumpole and the Penge Bungalow Murders by John Mortimer (in some ways, I wish this story had been left to the imagination, as the Time War was. But it was still entertaining to read)
Rumpole Rests His Case by John Mortimer
Attempted to read:
Deathless by Catherynne M Valente (I just got bored. idk. I'll probably give it more of a go when there's not upheaval going on all round me--eta: it's gone back to the library, as I just never got interested again, though, again, I was trying to read it while moving, so)
Sisterhood of Spies (this book kept losing me and I finally gave up, as the author kept going on and on and ON about how magnificent and wonderful and smart the MALE head of OSS was. I wasn't reading it for him, ffs. Not to mention the racist/classist stuff about how wonderful it was to hire only people from ~Cambridge and rich families)
7. ALSO. IN CASE ANYONE MISSED IT.
sparktober is coming! =DDD
