So this week I work at the Somerville Barnes & Noble, which is prettier and newer than my store. It also makes more money than mine and is an hour away. That is basically 1,200% of my usual commute time. I woke up this morning at 5 AM. I didn't even know they had a five in the a.m.!
Anyway. I worked in the Café which was fun - mostly because the Café Manager said I needed very little training. I'm going back on Thursday to close in the Café and learn about baking and making drinks and things. Wednesday I have court because a woman stole a lot of stuff from us, and then Friday and Saturday I'm working as a manager in their store.
I'm not entirely sure what I'm going to get out of this, other than to see how they do things differently. Maybe it's just a test to see if I play well with others, idk. Hamilton is next week and at the end of that, I interview for Assistant Store Manager. STRESS!
But ignoring that: a question I'm posing to you guys.
On Saturday, my surrogate store has a school bookfair where the kids are encouraged to dress as characters from their favorite books. I was thinking that, in the spirit of solidarity, I should come in costume too. Any suggestions for a book character I can dress up as that's recognizable? Of course, I'll want it to be something that I can easily disassemble in case no one else comes in costume - I don't want to make a big ass out of myself.
