I had my first violin lesson today (and god it was a long drive there. Nice countryside though).

So I was pretty much doing everything wrong by myself, from holding the bow to playing the notes. XD So now I just have to practice holding everything and doing the notes properly and next week if I have it down, we're doing scales.

Day 2 of learning the yooowwlin- Okay. I make some good progress then I make a screechy noise and fuck the song up. Still looking for a teacher that hasn't moved and answers their damned phone. Can't play Twinkle Twinkle Little Star properly ( Read more... )

So I took up the violin. I used to play it before, but that was when I was 10. So yeah, ten years away = screechy cat noises. I can sort of play Ode to Joy without too much of a cacophony. Looking into music teachers this week.
