I should be used to this by now...

I have this cat Finny, you know, and he likes to spend most of his daylight hours sleeping on my bed, or on the rug, or curled up in a closet, or in the open window (all of which are terribly adorable and distracting). So just a little while ago, I couldn't help myself and had to poke and pet the adorableness, which caused him to wake up and be annoyed with me, so he left. Back to work. I observed there were a lot of birds around, because the neighbours have a bird feeder out, and I recall hearing some rather loud squawking... Like, five minutes later, I hear someone tearing down the stairs and think "What on earth, Finny??" (my brother was already gone to work, and anyway he doesn't usually run up or down the stairs. only Finny and I do that.) I walked downstairs... no cats in sight; turned around to glance in the kitchen and he's like, LEAPING at the kitchen window, and there's a spray of feathers...! Aaaaagh, Finny!!! If you catch a bird, don't let it go IN the house!! (I'm sure it wasn't on purpose.) Fortunately little birdy was still a bit stunned as it flapped around the window, so I was able to catch it and let it go (it tried to bite me, but it didn't hurt at all, so I just found it cute). And it flew away. There are getting to be a lot of lucky birds in this neighbourhood.

I should mention, these fantastic stories are possible because I leave the main door open, and the screen door is lightweight enough for Finny to open it to come and go as he pleases.

He's such a cute cat, but somehow all my stories about him seem to involve terrorizing the local wildlife...
